First, you need to troubleshoot the problem with your Pegasus Estates Widespread lavatory
faucet. Start by turning off the water supply to the hot or cold faucet valve. If the water stops dripping when
you shut off the hot side, you need to replace the hot Pegasus faucet cartridge (RP20013). Likewise, if the
water stops leaking when you shut off the cold water supply to the faucet, you need to replace the cold Pegasus
faucet cartridge (RP20014).
How to Replace
a Pegasus Estates 8” Widespread Lavatory Bath Sink Faucet Cartridge
1. Remove the faucet handle.
Hold the lever handle (RP13053) with one hand and unscrew the handle seat (RP17030) with your other hand. Rotate
the handle seat, the lower portion of the faucet’s handle counterclockwise until it comes lose from the base
mounting nut (RP17031).
2. Lift the handle and handle
seat off the Pegasus faucet cartridge.
3. Unscrew the cartridge
retaining nut (RP70001) with a large Crescent wrench. Turn the nut counterclockwise until it is lose enough to
finish removing it by hand.
4. Pull the faucet cartridge
out of the valve body with pliers.
5. Install the correct
replacement Pegasus faucet cartridge. Hot valve on the left side and cold valve on the right side of the faucet.
Line up the mounting groove in the valve body with the knob on the side of the cartridge. Push the cartridge in by
hand.
6. Screw on the retaining nut
by hand, and then tighten it securely with your adjustable Crescent wrench.
7. Lower the handle and handle
seat onto the cartridge stem. Turn the handle to its off position. Hold the lever handle in the off position and
screw the handle seat back on the mounting nut by hand only. Do not use any sharp tools to unscrew or tighten the
handle seat; it is easily scratched.
8. Turn the water on slowly
under the sink and then open the faucet. Make sure the handle is closing the right spot and check for leaks at the
handle base.

Remove handle and handle base. Tighten the handle screw (RP50046) and reinstall. If this does
not fix the problem you will need to replace the faucet cartridge.
